in front of 是在整个物体的前面,in the front of 是在物体内部的前面.比如a tree is in front of the classroom是教室前面有棵树,树一般在教室外面的户外；而 there is a desk in the front of the classroom就是教室前面有张桌子,（比如讲台）是在教室里面的,这是内部方位.如果there is a desk in front of the classroom,那桌子就在教室外面了.
